My new obsession: Miu Miu Spring 2010 shoes

I just can't tell you enough how much I'm loving the shoes from Miu Miu's spring collection. They are just perfect. Playful but elegant. The fun patterns give those beautifully shaped shoes a more funky feel. The wide-chunky heels are a little retro but the shape of the shoes are really modern. the material also adds up a more elegant look: satin in bright colors, it's just too beautiful. I'm also really glad that clogs are back! and..oh yes! in satin and with the print of the season. Comfort meets chic, all the way.

Marching Order | The military inspired trend [Part2]

As promised, this is the second part of the post about the Oh so flattering! military trend. Outside the runway and the pages of the fashion magazines, we can see that this trend is very easy to use and that it looks really amazing.

Starting from the celebrities, the use of military green and the idea of emphasizing the shoulders is very present. Olivia Palermo applies this trend in a more obvious way, combining a commando style green jacket with black leggings, black over-the-knee leather boots and a large leather purse. Victoria Beckham leaves the green for the pants (rolled up) and matches it with a grey tank, light grey shoes and a navy blazer with structured shoulders. I like this look a lot more than Olivia's one, it looks casual and stylish at the same time. Carine Roitfeld applies this trend to a classic look, using those amazing shoes as twist.

I don't know if I have told you this before, but I've been obsessed with fashion bloggers for a while now. Living in Lima, Peru; where it's kind of difficult to find a lot of people on the streets that are fashionable and care about their style (fortunately, this is changing), it just feels so great to look at fashion bloggers from all over the world with their beautiful outfits and sharp sense of style. These perfect creatures somehow manage to stay stylish at all times, and I don't know how they do it.  Anyway, I featured here some of my favorite bloggers rocking the military trend.

Andy, from Style Scrapbook (my favorite blog, by the way), is wearing a really cool DIY*. Inspired by the Balmain jacket, she added some shoulder pads, trims and buttons  to a normal denim jacket and voilĂ ! the perfect military jacket. She matched it with an asymmetric dress and really cool clogs.

Denni, from The Chic Muse, had a more dramatic interpretation of the trend, matching the olive military coat with leather pants and boots.

Trang, from Behind the Seams, combined a commando style jacket with a bubble skirt, who says the military trend can't look cute and feminine?

Do you guys like the military trend? Are you using it? I want to know :D

Marching Order | The military inspired trend [Part1]

The military inspired trend has been with us for several seasons now. But I can't help it, I love it so much. There's something about the structured silhouette and the oversized shoulders that makes everyone look so good.  For FW 2010 this trend is much more sophisticated than the last seasons and we can see an evolution of the trend in Burberry, with structured jackets and draped skirts, or in John Galliano, with a more chaotic/ludic use of the gallons and medals. I specially loved  the oversized shoulders and the ragged shirts on Balmain; and the less literal interpretation of the trend on Haider Ackermann.

I will be posting a sequel of this post later with pictures of celebrities and fashion bloggers applying this trend to their outfits.

This is the first time I write with the new blog name THE TREND STALKER, I couldn't change the name of the fan page on Facebook so I had to create a new one. Please go here and fan me in the new page! I'd love it if you suggest the new page to your friends :D

thank you so much for reading <3

Met Gala 2010 Best Dressed

The most glamorous benefit in the US is the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Annual Costume Institute Gala. This fashionable event draws the most important (and powdered) faces in the business. Celebrities, designers, models and fashionistas gathered to celebrate the exhibition, American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.

This is my pick of the best dressed women at the event. How do you like them? Who is your favorite? share your opinions below! (my personal favorite, the always stylish Emma Watson)

Thanks for reading!
